My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Shep (HWTH#16452A). He is a Shepherd mix, DOB: 12/12/12. Shep weighs approximately 45 pounds (he is underweight) and stands 23 inches at the shoulders. He was rescued off the streets around the area of Lake Elizabeth Rd. in Palmdale by a Good Samaritan who unfortunately can not keep him. He has been relinquished to Halfway to Home to find him the Forever home he craves. This is an exceptionally sweet boy (he likes to give small kisses) who appears to have a calm temperament. His relinquish sheet states Shep may have been abused because he does not like to be touched on his hind quarters. His new owner will have to be a kind person who will give Shep a little time to adjust to his new environment and give him the love and good-quality human companionship he deserves. He is a little timid at times (he shows no signs of aggression) but with lots of love that should diminish. When Shep feels thoroughly comfortable in his new Forever home, he will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with leash training and the bonding process. Once Shep has bonded with his new owner, he will be an incredibly loyal canine companion. Attention also needs to be directed to getting Shep back to a normal healthy weight. He is good with other dogs and is crate trained. For more information on Shep, please contact Suzanne at tele # 661-824-4495.
