SUSY Q's Story...
5 year old Susy Q is now ready for a home. She is a 16 pound female dachshund mix. She is super super sweet but very very shy. She seems to do good with both male and female dogs but does not play much. This could change when out of a rescue situation but she is very quiet most of the time. She will tell you she has to potty though. totally crate trained but would prefer to be in your lap. Spayed, shots current, heart worm and tic disease free and chipped

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SUSY Q, a Lubbock Dachshund/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Shih Tzu for sale in Lubbock, or seeking a Dachshund/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Lubbock.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lubbock already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lubbock breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Dachshund/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lubbock paves the way for another one to be saved.
