Meet Lyla! Lyla is a 7 year old Springer Spaniel that was recently brought to Arizona from Tennessee by way of a network of caring people and rescues to find a new home. Today she is under our care and we are doing all we can to see that she gets the care she needs and a home that will continue her care and give her lots of love. You see, Lyla was a beloved family pet who has an unfortunate story. Approximately a year and a half ago Lyla went from being healthy and playful to disabled. She suffers from a degenerative condition that has left her with little use of her back legs. Lyla does not let that get her down though. She has a custom wheelchair that allows her to go on walks and chase shadows and birds. When not in her chair, she is mobile using her front two legs to pull herself around. Lyla is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than to be by your side and cuddle. She is friendly to dogs, cats, kids and adults. It is believed that she could possibly benefit from physical rehabilitation exercises and swimming (she has her own life jacket!) so we currently have her enrolled in physical therapy at Arizona Veterinary Physical Rehabilitation under the care of Dr. Sonnet Jarvis. There is so much life and love in this girl.
