Ulysses is shy at first, but warms up to be very sweet and friendly. He will hiss at you at first-- it's as if he can't quite believe he is safe. But if you just go right ahead and pet him, he'll raise his chin for you to stroke under it. And soon you'll hear him start to purr, a rusty, rumbling purr. He is a gentle soul who gets along very well with other cats. He frequently head bonks his kitty friends.
Estimated to be 10-12 years old, Ulysses came from the streets, and we'll never know how long he was alone out there. One day he came to the home of a kind woman who takes care of some feral cats.
Ulysses tests positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), but he can still live a long and happy life. He can even live with FIV negative cats, since it's only spread via deep bite wounds and Ulysses is not a fighter. He is an adorable cat who would love to have a forever home with some gentle people who will coax him out of his shell and help him feel safe.
Recently diagnosed with Triaditis (IBD, liver inflammation, and pancreatitis), Ulysses requires a special diet, B12 injections, and prednisilone. He's doing very well on this regimen and hoping to find a kind soul who will love him forever despite his special needs.
