My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SCRATCH HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Looking for a fun-loving, active, intelligent and affectionate companion? Scratch just might be your guy! This impressive and handsome fellow is a 1-year-old male Border Collie/ Australian Shepherd. Scratch is not only beautiful on the outside, he's got a temperament to match and will make a phenomenal companion for an active household. Scratch came to us after his owner became ill and had to have multiple surgeries and hospitalizations and could no longer provide him with the care or exercise a young dog like him needs. Scratch loves people and also does well with other dogs, we do not know how he behaves with cats. He's well behaved in the home and is crate trained and housebroken. Like most of his breed type, he is very intelligent and energetic and will do best in a home that can keep him mentally and physically stimulated. Border Collies are generally not recommended for first time or novice dog owners. He's not the type of dog that is going to be satisfied with long walks alone or being in an apartment all day while you work, he'll need a few hours of vigorous (running, fetch, dog daycare etc) activity a day. It takes a lot to tucker this dog out! We are hoping to place Scratch in a home with a fenced yard and another active dog(s) for him to play with. A family interested in participating in dog sports like agility or herding trials with him would be preferred. If you think you Scratch could be your new best friend, please email us at Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an application and to schedule an appointment to meet him. We suspect he'll be a popular boy, so email today!

• Scratch’s adoption donation is $275. This donation helps to cover his neuter, initial vaccines, initial worming, and microchip. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the pets in our care. Your donation also helps save other animals like Scratch from euthanasia.

• Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and please put the name of the dog in the subject line. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder; sometimes the applications end up in there!

• All of our dogs are in foster homes are can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, after an approved application has been received. To receive more info please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. We cannot place holds on our dogs, please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
