Ramsey is a special boy who has made a huge impact on everyone at the shelter. A stray who after his first vet visit we learned his 2 back legs didn't operate normally due to neurological issues. While he does not feel any pain, he also has a hard time walking and functioning like a normal dog. With no owner coming forward, the stray hold coming to an end and our shelters unfortunate rural location we feared we would not be able to provide him a good quality of life in the shelter. After a final vet check up the day before his stray hold was up, our vet explained that Ramsey could be a good candidate for a wheelchair. Without hesitation staff came together and decided to try to come through for this sweet boy. With the help and guidance of our amazing Chief and a gift card donated by WHS Beta Club we were able to purchase the supplies needed to build Ramsey his very own wheelchair. We have always considered ourselves a shelter like no other, but it is the help of our supporters that truly make use what we are. Please help us in sharing Ramsey so we can help find him a forever home to call his own. Ramsey is a lab mix that we have aged to be around 6 years old and weighs 65 pounds. He is already neutered but is pending getting up to date vaccines and heartworm test. While we were able to make him a wheelchair, his future family will need to consider getting him one better fitted to his needs as well.
