Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PRANCER’S STORY In December our rescue received an urgent call from a shelter to help a 14-week old Maltese/Terrier mix puppy that was just surrendered with an obvious broken jaw and injuries to his tongue and mouth. He was immediately picked up and transported to a veterinary hospital. X-rays showed that his lower jaw was fractured on both sides. Due his small jaw and fractures on both sides, his jaw was immobilized. This little guy was hospitalized for days as he had lots of pain and difficulty eating. By the end of the week his pain was controlled, and he was able to lap liquids. Prancer made a dramatic recovery and his fractures are now healed. He is now ready to meet an adoptive family.
Prancer is a male Maltese/Terrier mix, 3 ½ months of age. His exact breed is not known. He has a soft, lacey, coat of white hair over a light beige body and tan ears. He currently weighs 5 ½ lbs pounds and will probably weigh 10-12 lbs as an adult. Prancer likes everyone and radiates happiness and joy. He enjoys playing other small dogs and loves to cuddle next to another dog in a soft dog bed. He has a unique ability to win over cranky, older dogs, and the next thing he is cuddled next to the old one for a nap. Meeting new people is something that Prancer truly enjoys. This little guy is very affectionate with his foster family and will easily transfer his love and affection to another caring person. When you talk to Prancer, especially when calling him by name, he will tilt his head to one side and then to the other side. You can see this in his photos. Prancer would do best with a person or family that has time to help him with training, but most of all to shower him with loving care.
You can meet the Prancer this SATURDAY, JAN. 28th at Unleashed by Petco in Scripps Ranch, 10625 Scripps Poway Parkway, San Diego, CA 92131 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
