My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello!
My name is Livie and I am a petite, beautiful, little 5 year old bulldog. I used to live with a nice family but a divorce has left me homeless. And I lost my three girls, too. Sigh, I miss them. I have had some hard luck in my life, first purchased to make more puppies and kept in a crate when it was discovered how much goes into breeding bulldogs and then given away to a woman who wanted to give me a better life and then my family falling apart. I now live in a foster home with Chicago English Bulldog Rescue and long for my forever family, so I never have to move again. Please.
I am settling into my foster home very nicely. I enjoy playing and chewing on toys. And I love laying on the sofa, relaxing happily. I really would like someone to be with me all the time but am okay waiting and sleeping. I am completely housebroken, and give a really good signal when I am ready to go outside. I have been nervous since moving, in particularly, when going for a walk. You see, I was attacked by a big, big dog and got pretty nervous after that when I see a dog on the street. And so, I mostly just went out to my yard in a quiet suburb and really have not encountered all this crazy stuff that goes on in the middle of Chicago. I think I might be a Country Mouse.
My foster mom says I need some work going on walks and has been working with me to be calm and non-reactive when we walk. I love to walk but there is still too much stuff going on and those dogs, gosh, they surprise me and I get scared so I bark at them to scare them off. We are working on it. Treats are good and I take my rewards so gently.
I am a healthy girl of 48 lbs and the coolest thing is that I have a tail! And it wags! And wags! And wags! I have no problem happily jumping up on furniture and can do stairs easily. And I jump into the car. I love car rides! I am adjusting to living with 2 bulldogs in my foster home and am a little nervous around them still. I think it would be okay to live with another calm dog or just have a family of my own.
My perfect family is calm, happy family, who will appreciate my sweetness and give me the opportunity to settle in and finally feel secure. I promise to be a loyal, loving, cuddle-bug and give you my heart forever.
Looking for Forever,
Livie
