Facts about Blue

  • Breed: Doberman Pinscher
  • Color: Merle
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Blue is extremely affectionate, loves attention, and is well-behaved. He is responsive to commands, housebroken, easy to handle, loves to give kisses and very playful. He loves his toys, stuffed animals and to play fetch.

He has spent most of his life living the city life although Blue absolutely loves walks and exploring the woods and fields. You can see the scars on Blue’s face from some scary run-ins with unleashed dogs in the past. He is not fond of other dogs and will need to be an only pet in a quiet home.

Did I mention Blue is a very UN seniorly 9 year old. He is an older guy whose party days are over and deserves to just chill with an experienced Doberman lover.

About Doberman Pinscher Rescue of PA, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

DPR of PA, Inc. was founded in 1986 by Pam Taylor and incorporated under its present name in 1989. The organization consists of a network of foster homes around Harrisburg, Reading, and York, PA, as well as central NJ. Foster homes are always needed. If you can foster, please complete our application at http://www.dprpa.org/#!applicationform/vxpck

All Dobes that come into our rescue receive a full physical and behavioral exam and temperament evaluation which helps match them with the appropriate family. In addition, all dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccinations. We also serve as a resource to educate and assist Dober owners and are here to offer knowledgeable advice and answer questions if needed about your Dobe.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All dogs are in foster homes in various parts of central and eastern PA as well as central NJ. We do adopt dogs out of state as long as the potential adopter is willing to drive to where the dog is being fostered for a meet and greet and to take the dog home. We do not ship dogs and we do not have a central location.

Our Adoption Process...

Anyone interested in adopting must complete an application form found at http://www.dprpa.org/#!applicationform/vxpck. We are a small rescue who adopts less than 25 dogs a year, and we receive many more applications than we have dogs available. However, applications are carefully reviewed to determine eligibility and if we have a dog that meets your criteria. Because of limited volunteers, you may not hear from us if we do not have a dog that matches your environment or if you do not meet certain qualifications of applicants.

Our adoption fees can be found at http://www.dprpa.org/available.html.
