Sammy's Story...
Update 3/26/17: Sammy is doing great! He is the playfulness, happiest little Yorkie fellow around. He will play ball with you, he and another pup will play tug of war with a rope toy, or he’ll play tug of war with you! Nothing stops this little guy. He’s kind of bossy, and he likes to chase the vacuum cleaner but other than that, he’s just your typical Yorkie Pup. You’d never know this guy had a heart murmur, and foster mom hasn’t figured out if he is hard of hearing or just has selective hearing since he certainly can hear the can opener at dinner time. Loves to ride, he’s great on a leash, and a professional grooming dog on the table. Sammy is not totally housebroken, but he has shown much improvement since staying with foster mom. Sammy is looking for a furever that can spend their days and evenings with him; someone preferably retired or semi-retired. Sammy’s care has been quite expensive and if you would like to help by donating toward his medical cost, please select the PayPal beneath his bio, Sammy Thanks You! Additional pictures / videos can be found at foster mom’s facebook page: A NC Yorkie Rescue.

Money will buy you a pretty good dog,
but it won't buy you the wag of his tail.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammy, a Winston Salem Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Winston Salem, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Winston Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winston Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winston Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winston Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
