Elvis Houndly's Story...
Elvis Houndly is a shy, but friendly 4 year old coonhound. This handsome hound seems to do well with some other dogs, but others just seem to rub him the wrong way, so a meet and greet is required before he can go into a home with other dogs. Elvis has that typical hound bay that sets his voice apart from others here at the shelter and he loves to run around outside and explore with his nose to the ground. But, Elvis also enjoys the finer things in life, such as a cozy bed, lots of treats, and a big pile of stuffed animals to destroy, so we are asking that he go to a family who will spoil him rotten for as long as needed! Come visit with this loverdog, today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elvis Houndly, a Martinsville Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Martinsville, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Martinsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Martinsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Martinsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Martinsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
