My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mr. Social. All dressed up and nowhere to go! Got a black tie celebration coming up? Joey will fit in perfectly. All he needs is a bow tie to finish up his coat and look.

Joey is a real cutie that we believe to be a Chihuahua-terrier mix, about 1-2 years old. He likes to play and is quite engaging - even a bit goofy - very charming. Bright, spunky, playful and bouncy. Despite his small size at only 7 pounds, he's a sturdy little guy and plays nicely with other dogs. He likes carry his stuffed animals around in his mouth. So cute! One of his current caretakers says "He's a sweet bundle of joy. A real sweety, loves to give kisses, and washes my face all the time! He's a little wiggle-worm with lots of energy, but also loves to be held. All Joey wants is someone to take him out to play, run around with, and take him outside for fresh air. Someone to call his very own family. He loves to be petted with lots of love. Joey wants all the attention you can give to him."

Like all new dogs in a home, Joey will need training and adapting time in his new environment. He will need chew toys to chew on and soft squeaky toys animals to play with. Joey seems to especially love women, but anybody that loves him he will love right back. Due to his small size and typical chihuahua nature, we recommend a home without small children.

You can meet Joey at his current foster home, Wilmette Pet Center, 7 days a week during normal store hours (847-251-6750, wilmettepetcenter.com).

Joe's adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, heartworm test, rabies vaccination, bordetella vaccination, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, routine deworming, flea preventative, heartworm preventative, microchip and neuter.
