My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Prairie. I'm an 8-year-old purebred Yorkshire Terrier. I weigh in at a whopping 8 pounds. I'm the perfect size to be your travel companion! I'm already spayed, microchipped and current on my vaccines. I'm move-in ready!

If asked to describe my personality, I'd say that I'm sweet, gentle, friendly and outgoing. I may not be the youngest dog on the block, but I definitely don't act my age. I've got lots of pep in my step! My friends at the rescue almost didn't believe that I'm 8 years old. The only way they knew it was true is that I was surrendered to the pound by my previous owners, who gave the staff that information. I've actually had 2 different families in the past.

My first stay in the shelter was back in 2013, when I was only there for a day before getting adopted. I thought I had really lucked out! I had a forever home! But then, just 3 years later, I found myself back at the pound. I was so bummed out that my family no longer wanted to care for me. Why was I given up twice, you ask? Well, your guess is as good as mine. It certainly wasn't my fault, since I'm an awesome, adorable little doggy!
