Rickey's Story...
Hi... my name is Rickey! I came from Corning, CA when I was a puppy. I love going for walks but am pretty strong, even though I'm short, so will need some leash training. I am dog friendly so that means I can go to the dog park. I also love people. I'm a couch potato too so I don't need a lot of exercise. I love to hang around with my people friends. Also, I am a quiet dog and completely house-broken! I am sad because my mom had to move to a retirement home and they think I am too big so I can't stay here very much longer! But it would make me very happy if I can find a good home that will still love me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rickey, a Berkeley Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
