MORE INFO ABOUT ME:

HOWDY!! The name is Winnie, I am a young 8ish yr old and tip the scales at about 23 lbs. Let me tell you a little about myself. Well, its starts out like this... One day me and my buddy Winston (who just recently found his new family!) found ourselves wondering the streets when we were picked up and whisked off to a lady that kept us kenneled outside for many, many months. Lucky for us, she contacted the gals from Close to Home Animal Rescue who rushed over to get us out of that nasty kennel situation. I am currently being fostered with another dog who is quite a bit larger than I am and she makes an awesome snugging partner. It is quite obvious to everyone that I was NEVER meant to be outside dogs as I have acclimated to the indoor life with such ease. My foster mom is pretty cool, she takes me on car rides where I love hanging my head out the window to catch some air. I also love sitting on her lap when she's watching TV. Once I have had enuf "human" snuggling, I jump down and curl up on the floor with my foster doggie sister. I am crate trained and if a nice tasty treat is tossed in I am more than happy to head in after it and curl up for some down time. I LOVE playing with toys but you may want to consider leaving those stuffed ones out of the mix because I can "unstuff" one in seconds flat!! lol I did play a trick on foster mom a couple days ago. She ran to the store and left me out of the crate for an hour. Now, in all fairness to me,,,,the following was actually a crime of opportunity. Foster mom left really great smelling stuff in the trash can (Wendy's wrappers, McDonald's wrappers, etc) and I decided to "check it out" a bit! When foster mom got home we had lots to clean up, hahaha! Foster Mom learned a lesson that day. When we get visitors or I see something different outside I bark, but for the most part I'm a quiet girl who keeps the barking to a minimum and utilizes it only when appropriate. When kids come around, LOOK OUT!!! cause I LOVE them as much as they love me. Something about those small humans just make my butt wiggle. Speaking of butt wiggles, I love when foster mom gets my bowl of food ready and I shake my puggle BOOTY like Shakira. That's right, I do the doggie version of "twerking" when i see food!! My foster home has a doggie door that leads out to a fenced in yard so my potty habits have been great!! However, I will need patience and consistency at a new home with a new layout. But once I know where the "out" door is, I'm all about heading that direction when it's "time". When it's bedtime, I sleep in my doggie bed on the floor or sometimes with my foster mom in bed.... but she snores. haha So if you're looking for a sweet, fun, butt shakin' girl who LOVES all humans (of any age) and other dogs PLEASE fill out an application so I can FINALLY be HAPPY in my forever home. love, winnie xoxoxo

Why Adoption is a Great Option

WINNIE**6-8 yrs & 23 lbs!!, a Mentor Pug/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Beagle for sale in Mentor, or seeking a Pug/Beagle dog from a breeder in Mentor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mentor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mentor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Beagle breeders who help with Pug/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mentor paves the way for another one to be saved.
