Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*****ADOPTION PENDING*****
BENJI - Male, Shih Tzu, 7-8 yrs, 15 lbs
Benji has been a pampered boy whose owner passed away. He was taken in by another relative who also passed away a few months later.. It's understandable that he is a little confused and aloof. He likes to be held and petted but needs to know you are going to pick him up as it startles him to be picked up quickly. He is very sweet and his tongue is almost always sticking out. He is a hefty boy and could stand to lose a little weight so walks would be great for him. He did wonderful at the groomers and they fell in love with his soft fur. He likes to go outside and look around and loves treats. He is a quiet boy and will make someone a wonderful companion.
From Benji's foster: "This little guy has been through a lot in the last while and he is looking for his forever home. He came to me last night and he is amazing. It only took him about an hour of being shy before he started exploring. He followed me upstairs and lay on the couch beside me then turned on his back and let me rub his tummy. Then he got on my lap and just snuggled in.
He loves being pet and follows me around. Right now he is sound asleep on the couch beside me. He is definitely a couch potato although I took him for a nice walk today and he was looking around but kept up with me. He has a great personality and just wants to be loved and hugged.
He eats dry food and loves to drink lots of water. He is totally house trained. I put him in his crate to sleep last night as this was his first night here. Today I left him free in the livingroom when I went out for an hour and he was on the couch waiting for me when I got back."
