Indie Girl's Story...
You've seen Indie Girl on our page twice before. What does this fantastic girl need for her successful forever home? Indie has generalized anxiety and does best with confident people that are not fearful, are able to cheer her on daily and understand that there is an undetermined period of time that it will take for her to build trust. Her adopter must be committed to continued work with a behaviorist, LOTS of exercise and the flexibility to make adjustments as Indie evolves. She would do best in a home with a friendly, canine companion and no children under age 10. Indie is a 3 yr old newfie mix that weighs in at 65lbs.. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and she is fostered in Lebanon, PA.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Indie Girl, a New Oxford Newfoundland dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland for sale in New Oxford, or seeking a Newfoundland dog from a breeder in New Oxford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Oxford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Oxford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland breeders who help with Newfoundland rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Oxford paves the way for another one to be saved.
