My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ROCK'S ADOPTION FEE IS SPONSORED!!

What is your name? Rock - aka Rocket, Rocky

How old are you? About 13 months (a/o 6/25/17)

How much do you weigh? 40 - 50 pounds of pure adorable

What do you look like? I'm a very handsome white boy with a tan spot on my side/back and one on my behind.

What do you like to eat? I eat grain free puppy food that my fosters mix with a little blue Buffalo.

What kind of personality do you have? I have a great personality. I'm sweet and funny and lovable with just a touch of stubbornness. I'm very curious and want to learn about everything. I have a ton of energy or can just kick back and relax. I'm really just a complete all around great boy.

Describe your perfect day: eat breakfast then go potty. After that, I'm pretty open to anything as long as it involves fun, play and love.

What is your favorite toy? My foster brother and anything that I can chew on.

Do you know any tricks? I can sit and stay for short periods. I'm learning, really fast, to walk nicely on leash and I know go to bed

What scares you? Well, not much really. I'm too curious to be afraid. I'm still a little shy of new people but warm up quickly.

Have you been around children? Do you like them? I'm getting more use to them.

Do you like cats? I'm ok with them. I don't want to eat them, if that's what you're asking.

How do you feel about other dogs? Other dogs are awesome! Especially when they play with me.
If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? With my very own forever family. Maybe going on adventures and then cuddling.

How is your health? It's great!

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? Foster mom and dad. Grandma and her poodle. Foster bro and the older lady dog. 2 cats. My closest companion is foster brother but I really love my people, too.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I'm not home alone very often. I will hang in my crate if I have to.

Where do you sleep? With my foster parents

Do you like walking on a leash? I love it! I'm getting really good at it. I just love the mental stimulation and the physical benefits of a good walk. I'd also make somebody a great jogging companion!

Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard? I do bark occasionally, like when I think there is a threat. I have some separation anxiety that we are working on

Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside) we have a doggie door at home. I'll tell my foster peeps I need to go when we're at work.

Do you like playing in water? I just played in water at the beach and had a blast!

What do you love about your foster family? Oh geez, just everything! They love me and are helping me become a good dog citizen so that I can be a fabulous member of my new family

What was your life like before becoming part of NBBR? Well, not super good. My 5 siblings and I were raised for 6 months in a garage with no socialization or knowledge of outside. After "they" gave us to SPCA, we were so scared and confused! Then the wonderful folks at NBBR took us to training where we began to experience everything! Now, the sky is the limit for me!

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Rock's adoption donation is $200.

Interested in meeting Rock or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
