What is your name?
My name is Chai! Like a Chai Tea Latte!
How old are you?
I am still a puppy. Best guess is about 10 months old!
What do you look like?
I look like a chai latte! I am a very light brindle with a white chest and some white on my face. I have goofy ears!
What do you like to eat?
My foster parents give me this really yummy food. I don’t know what it is but they say it is healthy for me, so I like that. I also love to eat carrots and training treats.
What kind of personality do you have?
I am still a puppy so I have a lot of energy! But I am also really easy going and an overall chill girl. I am too smart for my own good, like learning how to open the toilet seat to try and drink water. But I also taught myself how to use the bells on the door when i need to go outside.
Describe your perfect day:
My perfect day would consist of being a silly puppy! I want to play with some other dogs, eat a lot of food, run around and then take a nap while snoring loudly on the couch!
What is your favorite toy?
My foster brother is only allowed to chew on hard nylabones, so thats all i get too! But i love them too!
Do you know any tricks?
My main trick right now is learning how to sit. I also taught myself how to use a set of bells on the back door to let me foster parents know when i need to go outside
What scares you?
There isn’t a whole lot that scares me! I do get inquisitive when i meet or hear something for the first time!
Do you like cats?
I met one cat at Dr. Johnson’s office! I liked him!!! While I don’t have a ton of experience with cats, my foster parents think I could be okay with them
Do you have any doggie best friends?
My foster brother, Chip! He is the main dog that I get to hang out with every day. I also like my grandparents dog Bella! Chip and I play and snuggle with each other almost every day.
If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I want to be the center of attention to any humans in the room! As long as there is someone to love me and pet me and let me follow them around, I will be one happy puppy!
How is your health?
I came to Even Chance in not the best health. I had a very runny nose, a bad case of kennel cough, and a few puncture wounds! I am all healed up now though and my nose has finally stopped running :)
Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I share a home with my two human foster parents, David and Emma and my foster brother Chip. Sometimes Bella spends the weekend with us.
Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
When I am the only one in the house, my foster parents put me in my crate. I feel safe in my crate and don’t mind laying in there until someone comes home to play with me! I also eat all of my meals in the crate so that I can associate it with a safe and positive place.
Where do you sleep?
I spend my nights dreaming away in my crate. It helps me settle down and get a good night of sleep!
What do you love about your foster family?
I love that my foster family gives me lots of attention. I also love that they are showing me the ropes of how to live in a home and give me a safe comfortable place to be a dog!
What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents?
Before being rescued, I was most likely a stray. They don’t know too much about my life but I have never had puppies! I came from St. Louis County Animal Control who picked me up on the side of the road! I was taken out of the shelter a few weeks before Christmas!

Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they grow up. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog.
