Meet Giovanni. He is a very relaxed boy, doesn't mind dogs or cats at all. He is a very typical Italian Greyhound. He is more concerned with being under a blanket and/or by your side than anything else. He is doing well with being housebroken but has had an occasional accident. Anyone that has owned an IG knows that they tend to protest going outside in the winter months. Kids would be okay, but they must be 10-12 years old and up. Giovanni doesn't mind kids at all, but the breed is fragile and easily injured.

Italian Greyhounds are wonderful dogs, but not for everyone. We are requiring that his future home have breed experience. At worst, the home should have experienced with other sighthounds (whippets, greyhounds, etc)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Giovanni, a Garden City Italian Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Italian Greyhound for sale in Garden City, or seeking a Italian Greyhound dog from a breeder in Garden City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Garden City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Garden City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Italian Greyhound breeders who help with Italian Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Garden City paves the way for another one to be saved.
