My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brandy, a male sulphur crested cockatoos, has been living in an aviary most of the year and is now ready for his next good Phoenix Landing home. He doesn't want to be touched, but he is talkative, energetic and beautiful.
Brandy is a 19 year old medium sulphur crested cockatoo. He came to us in 2004 in a small round cage. The cage had fallen and rolled, and his wing had been caught and subsequently amputated, and then he was relinquished to us. Please don't use round cages! Cockatoos need the largest cages and play areas that we can provide, because they are super smart, busy and easily bored. Bored parrots are a recipe for behavior problems.

Phoenix Landing's primary areas of operation include: Maryland (MD), Washington (DC), Virginia (VA), and North Carolina (NC). All potential adopters/fosters must attend one of our free educational seminars, have a brief in-home visit. For this reason, adoptions and fosters are limited to our locations in MD, DC, VA, NC, SC, TN, and close surrounding areas (including bordering locations in PA, DE, WV). If you live beyond our adoption areas, we encourage you to locate a non-profit adoption organization in your area. Many parrots need our help!
