Prince's Story...
Prince came in as a stray and was not claimed. He's a calm boy that is 100% kennel trained no matter how long you leave him confined. We are gone from 4:30pm until 8:00am and it can be an hour or so extra in the morning before he is let out. He has never once had an accident in his kennel. Prince likes to give hugs but does so very gently. He's playful but still considered a lower energy level. Prince is also extremely quiet and is medium size around 35 lbs. Dog adoption is 130.00 and includes spay/neuter, heartworm testing, age appropriate vaccines including a 3 year rabies, health exam, deworming, and microchipping. Any animal 6 months or older is considered an adult. No animals are vetted until they are adopted as we do not have a vet on staff. Once the animal is adopted we make a vet appointment, and they must go to be vetted before they can go home with an adopter. Call 985.651.7387 for more information regarding adoption.

Act quickly to adopt Prince. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Prince, a Laplace Border Collie/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Collie for sale in Laplace, or seeking a Border Collie/Collie dog from a breeder in Laplace.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Laplace already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Laplace breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Collie breeders who help with Border Collie/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Laplace paves the way for another one to be saved.
