Here's what the humans have to say about me:
After lots of TLC, Jackie is ready to find her Forever Family. Back in December, Jackie's foot was injured when she was clipped by a train. Alone, scared and emaciated, she was rushed to the SPCA for medical attention. Char-Wills was contacted, and of course we said we would help her. Eight weeks later, Jackie's foot is 98% healed and she is ready to be spayed.
Jackie will need follow-up care for the next 2 months to be sure that her foot has completely healed. Char-Wills will cover the expenses of those 2-3 months of follow-up care. For the rest of her life, Jackie will need to wear a boot when playing outside. The cost of her custom boot will also be covered by Char-Wills.
Jackie is about 2-3 years old and now weighs a healthy 65lbs. She is vaccinated, micro-chipped, de-wormed and will be spayed prior to adoption. Her shiny coat and bright eyes reflect her happy new future. While she is low-energy now, her exercise requirements will likely increase as she regains full use of her back left leg. Her favorite things are playing fetch, getting her belly rubbed, and snuggling up with her favorite human. She was fostered in a home with cats and has lived with other dogs before. (A meet & greet with other dogs would be required.) Her foster family says that she is a "pleasure to host." She does not counter-surf, get into the trash can or beg at the table. She is crate-trained, but behaves well when left loose at home for 2-3 hours. She enjoys car rides and her favorite treat is cheese. Jackie is intuitive, intelligent and affectionate with her special people. She is a true gem.
Jackie's ideal home would be Adult-Only, with a single person or couple who have experience with German Shepherds. She tends to be protective of her family, home and yard.
