My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BEAUREGARD: 7 Year Old Black Male Lab 75 Pounds

Beau’s family needs to find him a new home as they do not have the time for a dog in their lives at this time. They thought they wanted a dog but now have found out that maybe owning a dog is not for them. They adopted the dog from his previous owners as he did not want to deal with Beau’s allergies. Beau is a wonderful dog and his current owners have done a wonderful job with his training and his health needs.

Beau is still an active dog for seven years of age. He loves to go for walks, hikes, swims, car rides; you name it and Beau seems to be up for the adventure. He is a very sweet boy and loves to play with other dogs at the dog park. (If a dog gets too rough with Beau he will walk away.) He is great with kids, all people and cats. They took Beau to training at the Marin Humane Society and he ended up at the top of his class! He knows: sit, stay, out, lay down, he takes treats very nice from your hand, he will come when called, he is very food motivated, he will stand at the door when open and will stay until released and when he goes to jump up when you meet him; if you say off he will stop. He likes to fetch but sometimes he may not bring the ball back.

Beau uses a slow food bowl to eat from, he uses a front harness to walk on, he will counter surf if you let him, he sleeps in his crate in the garage and Beau has allergies the owners have been trying to get under control. They feed him a special gran free food that has helped but he still licks his paws and will get ear infections.

Health Beau is current on his shots, he is neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative.

If you are looking for a sweet sweet boy to be part of your pack please email Rescue Rep Liz at liz@jobshopsf.com or call 415-613-6374.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
