My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a courtesy listing only for CHLOE. This Doxie is NOT at Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. For information, please contact his current caretaker, Jennifer at jlknapp0326@gmail.com.

DOGGIE BIO:

Chloe's family has suddenly found themselves homeless and can no longer care for Chloe or her brother Jack. Here is a little about this gal:

CHLOE is a 9 year old, 7 lb, female, Red Longhair Dachshund. She is spayed, up to date on all immunizations, leash trained and house trained. Chloe is blind and will need a new home that understands her special needs. Here is what Chloe's current family has to say about her:

"Even though Chloe is blind she still very much enjoys playing ball. In fact the bigger the ball the better. She makes monkey like sounds while doing so. She is very friendly, sweet, and loving. Her nickname is pretty princess. As Chloe is blind she listens for the sound of your feet. Using "hey hey" works for her to orient herself in a new place to find myself or other family members. I also use 'wrong way' to keep her from bumping into things. Basic commands for both her and Jack include shut to be quiet, rude when barking at strangers, and excuse me when in the way."

Unfortunately, ODR, Inc. is over-full and cannot take her in. If you or anyone you know can help, please share this email or contact their current caretaker, Jennifer at jlknapp0326@gmail.com. Thank you!

Please note, this is a Courtesy Listing for a doxie that is NOT at Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. We are helping the owner find his/her new forever family. Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. has posted this dog as available for adoption or rescue intake as a courtesy accommodation to the dog's owner. Any and all information, photos, etc. have been provided by the dog's owner. Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. is not responsible for the accuracy of any of the information contained in this listing or any information that may have been omitted. Thank you!

ODR, INC. ADOPTION CRITERIA (aka Our Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria for dogs that we adopt and that we recommend to owners whose doxies we list courtesy posts for, the sole aim of which is to facilitate a successful adoption with a forever family.

*Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time?
*Have a securely fenced yard?
*We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and *Children need to be 12 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie).
*We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc).
*Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog.

Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these or similar issues.

Thank you!
