Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Little Ms. Maggie has had a really rough road in her short 2 years on this planet! She was trapped as a stray in a rural part of South Carolina along with another dog we believe is her daughter. Both dogs were taken to the local county high kill animal control facility to await their fates. Ms. Maggie surprised everyone by delivering 3 puppies (possibly prematurely, as no one knew she was pregnant) in the shelter. We saved the whole family, but sadly none of her puppies survived. Ms. Maggie mourned for awhile as she settled into her foster home, but now she is ready to begin living her life as a family member, cherished, loved, and taken care of forever.
Maggie is estimated to be 2 years old, weighs about 45 lbs. and is full grown. She walks well on a leash and has learned a few basic commands. We believe someone harmed her or scared her badly, as she is a bit wary of strangers, but once she sees you mean no harm she warms up and is a snuggle bug!
Maggie is spayed now so she will never have to worry about losing anymore puppies ever again. She is also microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm negative, and received a clean bill of health! She is housebroken and not destructive.
Maggie is looking for a quieter home with someone who understands she needs time to come into her own. She LOVES other dogs, especially smaller dogs, so a home with another dog who is more confident than Maggie would be ideal. She would love a fenced yard to run and play.
Maggie will be available for visiting this Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the Petco at 545 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, Md from 12pm-3pm. Applications sent in ahead of the adoption event preferred!
Interested adopters please email MJsAnimalSanctuary@gmail.com to request an adoption application. Adopters are subject to reference check, vet reference, home visit(s), meet and greet(s). Adoption fee applies.
