Facts about Lavender

  • Breed: Miniature Pinscher Mix
  • Color: Black - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Lavender is a sweet and super tiny girl (8 lbs!). She is female, about 1 year old, and has very short brown and blond fur. She came to the impound as a stray and is now looking for her new forever family. She appears to be a Chihuahua and Min Pin mix, and she definitely has the sweetness/playfulness and feistiness to go with it.

Lavender is unsure at first, but if she likes you, will become super friendly and will love to be held. Lavender was under-socialized when younger so can be reactive at first with new people or dogs, especially being feisty with new big dogs she needs prove herself around. But she warmed up to her foster mom's dog after a few days and quite likes her cat. She will need a new owner who will continue to socialize her and manage her introductions and interactions with strangers. She is super quirky, and does a belly crawl to your lap to get petted. She rides well in the car and walks well on a leash. She is good with cats as long as they are gentle with her. Due to her small size and socialization level, we will not place Lavender in a home with children under 10 years of age. Despite her small size, Lavender will need a home that will train her, give her enough exercise, and give her training as she grows up to be an adult dog in a few years.

Lavender's adoption fee is $350 and includes her spay, microchip, up-to-date basic vaccines, and up-to-date rabies vaccine. Even though the rescue is based in Eastern Washington, Lavender is in foster in the Seattle area. If you are interested to adopt this sweet little girl, please email connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application, or you can find an online application form here:

About Red Waggin' Rescue - Kirkland Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Red Waggin' Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 that grew out of Connell Pet Rescue. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers that do this part-time and unpaid.

The City of Connell is located in Eastern Washington, and since it is a small city, it has no animal control, no proper animal shelter, and no pet rescue services. Red Waggin' Rescue is fully staffed by part-time volunteers to help the City of Connell Police Department rescue, provide vet care for, and find new forever homes for homeless dogs and other animals from Connell, WA and the surrounding areas. Our volunteers and foster homes are active in both Eastern Washington and the Puget Sound areas.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Although there is a small holding area managed by the City of Connell Police Department, Red Waggin' Rescue/Connell Pet Rescue has no permanent shelter facility.

Our animals stay in foster homes while they await their new homes, that are found in Eastern Washington and all the way to the Puget Sound area.

Generally, if an approved adopter is interested in another part of Washington State, transport can be arranged and runs roughly every other weekend.

Our Adoption Process...

Email Connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application form.

If you are interested to make one of our animals your new family member, please email connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an application form, which you may fill out and email back to us.

Please allow a few days for a response, as we are only part-time volunteers. We require a completed application in order to meet a pet.

Once approved, if you meet a pet and all agree it is a good match: a volunteer will do a home visit, you will sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and begin the approval period. Generally, adoption fees are $250–$350 for dogs and $50–$150 for cats, and include spaying/neutering, basic vaccines, and microchipping, all required by our rescue.

All of our adoptions include a 7-day money-back approval period. After 7 days, a pet must still be returned to our rescue but adoption fees are not refunded.
