Hi there!
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio.
My name is Maggie and I am an all black German Shepard mix. I have been told that I am much smaller than a typical Shepard at only 18" tall and at 18 months I'm pretty much done growing so I guess that makes me a Mini Shepard mix.
I'm on adopt a pet because my first human had a stroke and was unable to care for me anymore. He was awesome and I miss him very much but he needed to focus his energy on getting better. These two really pretty ladies from the rescue came and picked me up and took me to the new home that I am in now. The scariest part of the whole thing was the car ride! I'm terrified of car rides!! I have been on a couple since to go to the veterinarian for shots (ouch!) and to get "fixed" (I'm not sure what that means but double ouch!!) and both times I cried and trembled the whole time in the car. Once I'm out of the car I'm totally fine and I'm not sure why I'm so afraid in the car but I'm trying hard to overcome my fear. Maybe a bad past life experience or something, who knows?#!
So anyway... (sorry I'm a really high energy dog and I tend to ramble) I've been doing really well at my foster home. My foster mom gets SUPER HAPPY when I go to the bathroom outside. I like seeing her get so excited about it so I keep going outside PLUS she gives me dog cookies when I do. Sometimes though I just have a brain fart and go in the house but I swear I'm trying and getting much better about going to the door when I have to go.
There is lots to do here at the foster home! There are 3 other dogs here, 2 are really old and cranky and sleep a lot but the other one is just a little older than me and we play and play and play and play and play. Then we power nap so we can get up and PLAY SOME MORE! If you're considering adopting me you absolutely, positively must love playing! There are also 2 other animals here that they call "cats." They smell funny but are awesome to play with too! After all that playing I get to sleep in the bed with the foster humans. At first I was really afraid to get up on the bed but once I did I figured out that it wasn't that scary at all and now I love getting on the bed! I wish there was a bed in the car!!
They say I'm "coachable." I'm not sure what that means exactly but I think it has something to do with me doing what they want me to do. I figured out that when they say "sit" if I put my butt on the ground they give me a cookie. Woo hoo! They keep saying "lay down" and pushing on my side but I have no idea what that's all about yet.
Oh one more thing! I LOVE SOCKS! I know you have 2 of every kind but I only like one of the pair. I put one in my mouth and I run and run around the house and them I hide the sock for you to find later. I am really good at hiding them and there is a LOT of socks hidden here at the foster house that they haven't found yet. I hope they find them before I get adopted! LOL!
