My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CHARLIE, CHARLENE and CHARLOTTE are probably all siblings, now about four years old, who came from the same location, on the other side of town, which had produced previous generations of cats. These three spent their early months with little or no human contact. For these former outdoor cats, much of the shelter environment has been new to them.

They have been at the shelter for about three years now, and they have made much progress since they arrived. They live in the main cat room now, with 20 or so cats. They are out and about much more now, and hide less, as they get to know the other cats. Now they just need to learn to trust humans more. This process can take a fairly long time.

CHARLIE is the tiger and white fellow on the left in the first picture. CHARLOTTE is the black and white girl on the right. CHARLENE is the tiger and white girl behind her. These good-looking kitties can be adopted separately or in groups, or (preferably) all together. They are not fond of being handled, but may allow some petting.

They need a quiet adult home with patient people who can complete the socialization process. They will need space for themselves, some safe hidey-holes, and plenty of time to get used to new surroundings. They are used to being around other cats, and might benefit from a home with a few feline residents. They are not yet cuddlebugs, but maybe, with enough time and patience, eventually they will be. One can’t predict how long this will take, so a great deal of patience may be required from their new parents. If you think you are up to the challenge, then come and meet them !!
