My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello Everyone! My name is Indy. I am a beautiful, 10 year old, Congo African Grey. I came to the Rescue after my dad was unable to take care of me anymore. I do pluck a little, but I’m letting my hair grow back for now.

I love to talk and have a very large vocabulary. Some of the things you may hear me say are, "Come on let's go, you're so out of control man, you want to take a shower, I’m not a bird, to be or not to be, I am no an animal, I am a man, I coulda been a contender, I coulda had class, I think therefore I am, booya, that’s what I’m talking about, come on, I love you, let’s go, talk to you later, give me liberty or give me death, and what are you doing buddy". I also growl like a cat, bark like a dog, and yeah, I do say a few bad words.

The Vet said I have a clean bill of health and I am a good eater. I am on a healthy diet of pellets, vegetables and fresh fruits. I like to try all kinds of foods and enjoy seeds and healthy nuts (no peanuts please) as a treat. OH! One other thing but shhhh, don't tell anyone....I LOVE scrambled eggs! (I don't get them too often though)

I do not mind my foster parents’ dogs, but I have not gotten close enough to them to see if they like me. My foster parents would never leave me alone with any dogs, even if it seems like we really like each other.

I was raised by a man, but I am learning to like my foster mom too, a little more each day. I am looking for my forever home and would make a wonderful family companion. Please do remember that I require a lot of attention (who likes to talk when there is no one around to listen??) and I should be adopted into a family where there is someone home (it doesn't have to be the same person) to interact with most of the time. Would you like to come meet me? Perhaps I could talk you into taking me home forever? In the meantime, would you like to send me a gift from my Amazon wish list. I would appreciate anything sent! Thank you so much for stopping by to read my story. I hope to meet you soon!
