Cooper's Story...
Cooper #6315 is a 2-year-old male, Portuguese Water Dog mix. This young man is a very nice affectionate and gentle boy. He is housebroken. He is a well-trained and knows heel, sit, lay down and stay. He gets along with other dogs. He is good with children, though may be a bit big from small children. While ee walks well on a leash, he can be strong. Fun Fact: His foster family reports he loves water and will try to get in the shower ;) He weighs 75 pounds and is full grown. This pup is microchipped. We believe you can always teach an ‘old’ dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption form, downloadable from our website: http://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoptus.html and return it per instructions. Email dogs@lastchanceanimalrescue.org with questions. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for adoption event locations and updates: www.facebook.com/lcarmd

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cooper, a Waldorf Portuguese Water Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Portuguese Water Dog for sale in Waldorf, or seeking a Portuguese Water Dog dog from a breeder in Waldorf.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waldorf already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waldorf breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Portuguese Water Dog breeders who help with Portuguese Water Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waldorf paves the way for another one to be saved.
