Hi! I’m Sonny Corleone, but you can call me Sonny, Sonny Boy, Sonny Bono (my foster dad likes that one, lol). I was named in memory of an angel dog, Sonny Corleone (of the Gilbert 23), who lost his life in the Tragedy At Green Acre Dog Boarding. I was found as a stray in Tucson, and brought to the Pima Animal Care Center. This is where my foster mama met me, and decided she had to get me out of there. I must have charmed her with my sad, hungry, and scared eyes. I went home with her a few days later, after my stray hold was up, and I was neutered. I’m shy and scared at first, but if you have hot dogs, and go slow, I will warm up quickly. I don’t know how to tell you what happened to me before I came to the rescue, but I am scared of loud noises, and voices, and do have some medical issues that my foster mama found after bringing me home. I have a broken tail, that has not healed, and part of it is coming off, so the vet will be removing some, maybe all of it, depending on x-ray results. It’s also possible I may have some fractures in my hips, as I have pain, and cry out when I go #2. I tested positive for tick fever, but am not showing symptoms, so the vet is sending out blood work, to make sure I have no underlying diseases. But I don’t let it get me down! I’m still a happy, loving boy, who loves to snuggle, and once I trust you, I will follow you to the moon and back! I’m a 3 yr old, neutered, and chipped guy, who is a little on the skinny side, at 9lbs. Once I feel comfortable, I like to play with toys, and other small dogs, and can also live with dog friendly kitties! Once I’m healed up from my surgery, and cleared medically, I’ll be ready to go to my forever home!
