Meet Cecil. This handsome guy is a 6-year-old beagle/Brittany spaniel mix who looks like a 30-pound St. Bernard mix at some angles. He has been with the same family since he was a pup and has been very loved and well-cared for, including regular health exams at the vet (his teeth look great!). Until the addition of a human sibling, Cecil had always enjoyed an active lifestyle that included frequent hikes and jogs. Now that the family's life has gotten a bit busier, Cecil isn't getting as much attention and isn't adjusting to the change.

Cecil is friendly and happy, but he needs just a moment to warm up to new people, especially in a new environment. Once he is comfortable he will politely ask for a back scratch. Cecil is quite cuddly with his people and likes to be near them when watching TV or hanging out on the couch. Besides the adventurous activities, this active guy also LOVES tennis balls. In fact, tennis balls are life in his book.

Cecil has been raised with other dogs and has shared his home with another dog his whole life. He often snuggles up with his canine sister, but he doesn't really show much interest in playing with her, mostly because his aforementioned love of tennis balls. He could probably be fine as a single dog getting all of the attention or with another dog who isn't looking for someone to romp and wrestle with. Cecil has also been raised around dog-savvy children and has never been nippy. He has never shared his home with a cat, but with a slow introduction he would probably be fine. He has hung out with indoor bunnies and been just fine.

Cecil is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is also solidly housebroken. Although Cecil was crated as a pup, he is now very trustworthy when left in the home unsupervised.

Please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting if you are interested in meeting Cecil. His adoption fee is $150.
