My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Denver is an 11 month old purebred German rottweiler, who came from a puppy mill. Until about a month ago she has never been outside of an 8x8 dirt pen where she spent all of her puppyhood. Once outside those chain link fences she discovered the world was a bright shinny fun place that is full of eventuate and belly rubs and affection. She immediately started her training and has mastered potty training and crate training. Since she has not had all 3 of her dhpp shots, she has been restricted to staying at her foster home. Leash work is a work in progress as well as obedienance training. That is something the two of you can work on together; and it will help you build a deeper bond. She is kind of like an 8 week old puppy in a 65 pound body!! Her foster mom recently sent me this email:

She definitely likes to cuddle! She is a sweet girl who will take belly rubs and give kisses all day long. She would do best in a home that has another dog for her to play with. She loves to play chase with our male dog, but he is small so she can overpower him quickly, so she'll probably do best with a dog around her size and energy level. She enjoys to play with us and her toys but much prefers the opportunity to play with our dog. She doesn't know her size as she has no problems climbing up and squeezing into our laps to hang out! We are still not quite used to leash walking yet but we were quick to learn sit! Training will be vital now as she is very smart--and a little mischievous--and will definitely learn quickly and has adapted well to our schedule. We are working on getting used to the cats, it is a slow process but she gets overly excited. She has not shown any aggression (barking, charging) towards them and I think she will do just fine with a gradual introduction. She is kennel trained and it has become her personal place as she will go in on her own for naps during the day. She will need a loving home with a regular routine, ideally with another buddy where she can romp and play.

If you would like to meet Denver please go to http://www.rottenrottie.com/adoption.html and fill out the adoption questionnaire and return it to us. We will contact you once we have had a chance to look it over and let you know which dogs may be a good fit for you and your lifestyle. We look forward to working with you.
