I urgently need to place an absolutely beautiful long haired male, gentle and affectionate (fixed) approximately 4YO. I adopted him from the LA County Downey shelter and even after being fixed he wants to fight with my existing GSD. My roommate has given me an ultimatum when it comes to finding him a new home. He's OK with me for now, however he has to remain locked in a room when I'm at work. Once I'm home I trade off moving him and my existing dogs through the house and yard. It is inconvenient,but workable, I just don't like having to leave him locked up for hours at a time.
Mouse is a 4-5 YO neutered long haired male GSD. He is large, even by GSD standards but gentle as a kitten with people. He wants to be a lap dog and will lay with his head (or more if you let him) on your lap. He would rather do this than eat! Frankly he may well be the prettiest GSD I've ever seen and his looks match his temperament. He's is not an excessive barker, once or twice as an alert if something approaches the house but is very quiet normally. He is house trained, rides well in the car and is OK on a leash though could use a little formal training. He doesn't pull and is smart and biddable. He would do be best as an only dog or with a female. He is a dominant male and does not suffer other males taking his attention though the girls are fine. Given his wishes he'd never be more than 10 feet from his chosen person. He was bonded to me in less than 2 days. Someone who is retired or works from home would be his ideal though he's fine on my work schedule as well. He doesn't show much interest in toys but will worry a bone on and off. He loves hugs and is good with the children who always want to pet him. It breaks my heart to give him up,he's a real love, but he doesn't get along with my existing male shepherd and this isn't fair to either. He does give deference to my female border collie so sharing space with a female doesn't seem to be an issue.
