Good day, friends! My name is Ranger and I am a delightful male mixed breed born in 2012. I weigh around 75 pounds but could stand to lose a couple of those LBs.

I am such a wonderful boy, I bet I'll meet all the requirements of your ‘Dream Dog Checklist.' Fun? Check. Athletic? Check. Adorable? Check. Irresistibly sweet? Check. The cutest, most loving, awesome dog in the world? Check!!! I bet you're wondering how a gentleman with as many checkmarks as myself ended up in the shelter. Well, you'll be pleased to know it was due to circumstances beyond my control. It had nothing to do with me!

I'm not trying to come off conceited, but I am basically the whole package! I absolutely treasure humans and my time with them! I love to play with them, snuggle them, kiss them, and well, do just about anything... as long as I'm in the company of my peeps! The same goes for my fellow canine pals. If you have any potential fur siblings in the home, I'd love to play with them and see if we'd be a good match!

When we first meet, you'll probably notice I'm very energetic! I am a very active fella and will require a home that exercises me regularly. I would have a blast joining you for outdoor adventures! My tail is wagging just thinking about all the runs, hikes, jogs, and/or camping trips we could go on! Not only am I an excellent adventurer, but I have a brilliant mind as well! (Like I said before, I'm the the whole package, hehe.) I have mastered a couple of my basic commands like "Sit," "Come," and "Stay." I am such a smart fella that I would love to add more tricks to my book! I am very food motivated and catch on quick so training should be a fun thing for us both!

What more could you possibly want in a pooch?! Ask the front desk to meet me today so I can get going to my forever home already!

About MaxFund No-Kill Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fees:

Cats: $25
Kittens (under 12 months): $75
Dogs: $125
Puppies (under 6 months) $200
Dogs over 8 years: $75

All applicants will be asked to submit the names and phone numbers of 3 personal references (relatives don't count), the name and phone number of your veterinarian if you have one, the name and phone number of your landlord (if applicable) and information about your current living situation. We also require that all immediate family members meet the animal prior to adoption to ensure compatibility. We would hate to adopt an animal into a family and later find out the dog doesn't like the kids or the husband doesn't like the animal, etc. You can print out an application on our website at maxfund.org.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and have filled out an application, MaxFund will ask you to bring any currently owned dogs to the shelter for a “meet-and-greet” to ensure they can stand each other before they become a family. Because we examine adoption applications carefully and contact all references, same-day adoptions are extremely rare and should not be expected!
