Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Claus and I am a six year old male smooth Dachshund. I'm black and tan with a cool white racing stripe on my chest. I came to Wag N Train in mid-February when I was laid off by a breeder. I was in pretty rough shape at the time with bad teeth, bad skin and I was way too skinny. I lost most of my teeth during my dental but that doesn't affect me much, just gives me a silly grin. I can still eat just fine and I have gained almost two pounds! Everyone thinks I look great! I've learned to walk on a leash pretty well and am housebroken. My foster Dad says I'm going to make someone really lucky since I'm such a great catch! I live with two big dogs, another dachshund, and a cat and we all generally get along, even though I prefer my dachshund foster sister. We hang out together a lot. I follow my foster dad everywhere and am a lover. I love a good lap to nap in, cuddling and giving lots of kisses. I also enjoy running around the house and yard and barking at my bigger housemates and the neighbor dogs. My foster dad tells me I'm a clown because I make him laugh a lot. I am a little standoffish around people that I don't know and I shy away from children but that is mainly because they are new and I'm not used to them. (Kids make me kind of nervous.) But once I warm up to you, get ready for the kisses! I will need a securely fenced yard and a resident dog to keep me company and show me the ropes.
Suggested adoption donation for Claus is $250 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note: invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.
