My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Flower was rescued from a Maryland shelter in February. She's about eight pounds, and about two years old. Flower is also microchipped.

During her visit at a local pet store, her caretaker said: "She is used to people, and very friendly. However, she is not too happy being held. I could pick her up, but she got antsy after just a minute or so. She was more comfortable sitting on my lap while I sat in my chair, but still preferred to be on the floor. But on the floor, she would come stand up against my leg and indicate that she wanted a face rub, which she LOVES! I put my chair in the pen with her, and she was quite comfortable sitting right next to me, or lying in her litter box, with me stroking her face. If I stopped, she would sit up and present, telling me clearly that we weren’t done yet. She seemed quite happy with me sitting in the pen with her, and stretched out in that relaxed pose with her feet to the side. She was attentive to anyone who walked by, and wasn’t bothered by the few dogs that came up to check her out. She even “nosed” one who was curious. I was prepared to ask the dog owners to keep their friend back if it looked like the dog was getting too excited, or if Flower seemed upset. But she just took it in like it was no big deal. Clair asked if there was a way she could be “less messy.” I don’t know how long she had been out in the pen before I arrived, but she had kicked litter out on the floor mat and left a few poops around. She generally used the litter box and seemed comfortable in it, but I think she’s just a big girl, and when she hops out she tends to take some of the litter, etc., with her."
