Baxter's Story...
Meet Baxter! This handsome, 7-year-old, gentleman is elegant, has proper manners and will even give you a dandy handshake upon request. He enjoys the finer things in life such as walks around the terrace, catching scrumptious treats as they go soaring through the air and watching the ever so interesting world around him. In his previous residence, he was unsure of the smallest being (toddler) he shared living quarters with, but is content with older beings (8+). Even being around 85lbs, he is well behaved on leash, has played with larger dogs, but can be a little much for the smaller guys. He would be a marvelous addition to a family seeking a fun-loving, well mannered fella like himself!

Baxter is available and able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit us at our center (701 A Street Wilmington, DE) Tuesday-Friday 12-7pm or Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baxter, a Wilmington Mixed Breed (Large)/American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Large)/American Bulldog for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Large)/American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Large)/American Bulldog breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Large)/American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
