My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apr 21, 2017: Izzy is waiting patiently for her furever home. She LOVES everyone. She is a super snuggler, loves to play and doesn't need to be in a crate! All she needs is a single family home with an active doggie friend and a wonderful human (or two or three) to give her love!

Watch Izzy play with her foster sister on the attached YouTube video. Izzy has been in a foster home without a fence and is doing great, so she can now go to a home without a fence.

Apr 9, 2017: Izzy continues to be a love bug. She had a blast meeting everyone at last weekend's adoption day. This is no surprise because she loves people! She greets her fosters at the door with a toy in her mouth, a wagging tail and a wiggling butt! She continues to enjoy snuggling with anyone she can get close to and can't get enough playtime with the resident lab. She is a super good girl. Izzy has been living with a 9 year old child in her foster home and has been doing great, soaking in as much attention as she can from her human foster sibling. She is now approved for ages 9 and up.

Mar 20, 2017: This girls sweetness has not wavered. She adores all people and dogs that she meets. Her snuggle skills are the best ever. Izzy is very well behaved and responds to direction.

IZZY #2 is a 2 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 30 pounds. Izzy is looking for a home where she can get the love, attention, and exercise she deserves. Izzy has been well cared for and well loved. She is a social girl and is good with dogs, cats, hamsters, and lizards. She has not had any formal training but knows sit, down, wait, up, and easy. This cutie enjoys spending time with other dogs and had a great time when she was boarded briefly at a doggie day care. Izzy loves long walks, hikes, playing chase and wrestling with her family. She doesn’t enjoy water but does know how to swim. Izzy loves her people, is a cuddler and prefers to sleep in bed with her owners. She enjoys marrow bones and playing with durable toys. Izzy can jump a 4 foot fence so will need a 6 foot fence if her new owners have a fenced yard. Izzy does not enjoy the smells of cigarette smoke and vaping so she will need a home where this does not occur. From the evaluator: Izzy is a sweet and adorable little girl. She fell asleep sitting up while cuddling with her owner’s roommate. She is very smart and focused when performing commands. She will thrive with a family that wants to take long walks outside and then come inside and cuddle on the couch. She is the perfect little pocket lab! Izzy was surrendered because her previous owner could no longer take care of her. She is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!

Adopters must meet these requirements:
Setting: Rural, Suburban
Dwelling: Single Family Home
Fence: 6 foot fence required
Must be adopted with a family that has another dog.

Update: Izzy continues to thrive in her foster home. Her ideal home would be with a family who had children, an active doggie companion, or two, a big fenced yard to run around in, lots of toys to play with (balls, narrow bones and tuggy toys are her favorites) and a human bed to snuggle in. She is a low maintenance girl. She doesn't bark much, doesn't need a crate, has lots of spunk in her and is an awesome snuggler and hugger!

Update: Izzy's foster family can't stop talking about how she is such a cute little girl. She LOVES toys, the resident lab and her human foster brother. She's house broken, doesn't need a crate, take treats super gently and LOVES to snuggle. She's just a little bit, weighting only 31lbs. Won't you make her yours?

Update: Izzy is a sweetheart and the perfect pocket sized lab! She is settling into her foster home and is definitely loving being on a human bed. She enjoys playing with her foster sibling!

Update: Izzy continues to settle in with her foster family. She is a true Velcro dog. She prefers to be touching her people at all times unless she is playing, eating or hanging outside. She will greet you at the door with a smile, hugs and pure happiness. She doesn't require a crate and has perfect house manners. She sleeps through the night snuggled in bed and loves the children in her foster home and has been respectful of the cats. She does not appear to have a prey drive of any kind. She loves toys, marrow bones, Nyla bones and romping around. She is such a sweetie!

Update: Izzy arrived in her foster home last night and has been a joy so far. She became fast friends with the resident dog and has enjoyed hanging out with her human foster siblings. She slept through the night and snuggled in bed with her fosters. She is a strong girl despite her size and would walk best on an easy walk harness. She already knows sit and loves toys, especially balls. She would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. She has been having a blast playing with the resident dog. Izzy is loving being outside in this beautiful weather! Overall, she is a sweet, petite girl that loves to play and then hang out on the couch!

This dog is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP.
