My story

Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.

Tucker would love for you to add him to your family. He is approximately 1 year old and has been in foster care since he was only a baby. Your first thought is probably "Hmm.. I wonder what's wrong with him for him to still be available for adoption..?" and the answer is... nothing. He's a black lab mix, they are very common, and their pictures don't stand out among the others online so we often have black labs get overlooked for months that turn into years. The hardest age to adopt out is 4-5 months to 1 year because people either want a puppy or an adult dog. Tuck got overlooked during his time window as a cute puppy so here we are. He's a thick guy but he's very gentle. He gets along great with his foster brothers and sisters. He's crate trained and housebroken but a change in environment and schedule might cause him to have an accident or two during adjustment. He is also leash trained and knows 'sit'. He's vaccinated, neutered, and heartworm negative.

Second Chances is a rescue organization based out of Pontotoc, Mississippi which adopts dogs and puppies all over the Northeastern United States. All of our dogs and puppies are kept in private foster homes in Mississippi until adopted. Our dogs are NEVER in a facility.
