CK's Story...
Hi there! My name's CK and I'm an 8 1/2 year old lab mix. I was brought to the shelter by my owner who moved and could no longer care for me. So now I'm here looking for a new family to love me! Could that be YOU??

I'm an easy going, laid back guy and would do well in a home with other dogs, cats or kids. I'm also housebroken and ride well in the car! The shelter is making sure that I'm all up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped before I go to my new home! What more could you ask for??

So now all I'm waiting for is someone like YOU to take me home and love me for the rest of my life. Do I sound like I would be a good fit for your family? Stop by the shelter to visit me! Shelter hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2.

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CK, a Youngwood Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
