My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name? Nala
How old are you? About 4 years
How much do you weigh? Approx. 85lb
What do you look like? I have beautiful tan and white fur, adorable squishy face, and some extra rolls all around.
What kind of personality do you have? I am the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. I am very independent and can entertain myself for hours or I can snuggle up and be the best napping partner.
Describe your perfect day: Laying out on the patio sunbathing with my tennis ball close by.
What is your favorite toy? Anything that is in the shape of a ball. I LOVE tennis balls.
Do you know any tricks? Besides all the obedient tricks like sit, stay and down, I can shake (with both paws), high five, speak and roll over (naturally for belly rubs).
What scares you? Loud noises make me a little uncomfortable. I try to hide under anything I can.
Have you been around children, do you like them? I have not been around any small children, but I think I would do just fine.
Do you like cats? Cats? I like to chase cats, but my foster mom said that’s a no no
How do you feel about other dogs? I am ok with them from a distance. I would do better in a house where I am the only child.
If you could be anywhere in the world where would it be? I would go anywhere, but only with my human...and my tennis ball.
How is your health? My health is great. My foster mom makes sure I am in tip top shape.
Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with my humans, two foster siblings who I get to see from a distance. I love my humans the most though.
Where do you hang out when you are home alone? In my own room w/my crate, toys and blankets.
Do you like walking on a leash? I absolutely love walking. My foster mom told me I am the best walker in the house – probably because I don’t pull and stay at her side.
Do you have any not so great habits that we should know about for instance do you bark or dig in the yard? Only normal dog stuff. If it runs - I chase and if I hear a strange noise outside- I bark. I don’t dig or mess up the plants
Are you house trained? Yes, I do not potty in the house or eat furniture.
Do you like water? I love water unless it’s the bathtub – then I have to be bribed.
What do you love about your current family? My foster mom and dad give a warm and loving vibe. I love the amount of love and tennis balls they provide. I wasn’t familiar with car rides until now and because they take me almost everywhere, I now love car rides.
What was your life like before being rescued by your current family? My foster mom always tells me to never look back on the past and only move forward with the future. This is probably because we don’t know much about my past. One day I was at Front Street Shelter and now I am experiencing what a real family is like – the rest is history!!

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Nala's adoption donation is $200.

Interested in meeting Nala or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
