My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**PIPER'S ADOPTION FEE IS SPONSORED FOR
APPROVED ADOPTERS OVER THE AGE OF 55!!**
Hi, my name is Piper and I'm a 7yrs young. I'm black with some brown and white spots and weigh about 40lbs. I'm house trained and loving life outside the shelter.

I am a huge cuddle bug, but can be a little pushy...who can blame me, I was in the shelter for nearly ONE YEAR! My perfect day would be hanging out with my human cuddling on the couch or playing fetch...I love tennis balls and have even learned to "drop it" so my human will throw it again. Oh and food...give me treats and I'll do just about anything. I am a little stubborn when it comes to tricks but my foster mom is teaching me. So far I know sit, lay, stay and out of the kitchen-Mom says begging isn't polite.

I haven't met kids or cats yet, but they don't bother me on walks. As for dogs, I have only spent time with my new brother-he's ok, but I don't know what the hype is about siblings...I prefer to have all the attention, but I am learning to share(we didn't have to do that in the kennels). We both get to have morning cuddles with her though and I love that part of the morning because I sleep in my crate at night. Plus he's cool to go on walks with-we walk side by side!

One thing is...I don't like being alone. I sleep in my crate ok, but when my people leave I get anxious-I escaped two crates so now I'm in a tiger crate.

I like getting clean, but that whole rain business is not my thing. I prefer to stay in if it's wet outside.
Before my foster mom took me I spent most of my time in a kennel-it was loud in there and they definitely didn't have comfy couches and blankets with a human to lay on. So, I hope I find a forever human who wants lots of love because I have plenty to give!

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Piper's adoption donation is $200. Are you over the age of 55? Piper's adoption fee is sponsored for qualified adoption applicants over the age of 55! Ask us about our Seniors for Seniors program!

Interested in meeting Piper or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
