My name is Miyo...I am a survivor. I am one of those dogs who is born and lives outside, who has never known love and the comfort of a home -- until a caring soul came to my rescue. Thanks to the Nordic Paws Project my life is no longer on a downward spiral. I am probably one of the least fortunate of all the Northern dogs who make the long journey to Animatch. When I was found, I was starving and frozen; I know that I would not have lasted much longer. A very kind and compassionate nurse who helps dogs like me promised that better days were ahead. She also told me that, thanks to Animatch, my story will have a happy ending. In the Far North, there will always be dogs like me -- victims of the overpopulation of stray dogs who do not have access to sterilization.
My journey has finally brought me to safety – Animatch. I have a long road ahead. I must gain weight but food is plentiful here. In fact, I need to understand that I no longer have to eat like it’s my last meal! I must learn to trust humans, so far I have been treated kindly. The Volunteers tell me that I will be okay – they say I have courage and heart that is inspirational. Even though the Centre is not home, it’s my first taste at family life, and I could easily adjust to this. Despite all the recent setbacks in my life, my spirit shines through. Are you looking for an affectionate fellow to be a constant companion? I’m your boy. I’d be happy to follow you around all day, lending you a helping paw.
