My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas, Texas and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or Oklahoma area.

NAME: Skeeter
GENDER: Male (Neutered)
AGE: About 3 years
WEIGHT: About 7 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Good with other small dogs, Unsure on cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with children 10 and older children

Meet Skeeter, an adorable three year old Chihuahua. This guy has a sweet disposition and will capture your heart when you meet him. He has a golden coat with white highlights. His eyes will melt you.

Skeeter's human recently passed away. Skeeter was so loyal, he was with his Mommy until the very end. The family asked CRT if we would be willing to take Skeeter in to our program and help him find a new forever home that will allow him to grow old with them. We are thrilled to have him in our program, and are confident that he will find a home quickly.

Skeeter gets along great with the other small dogs in his foster home. He is very polite and enjoys their company. He doesn't play a lot, but he enjoys hanging around them. Skeeter loves toys - especially the stuffed animals. He is a happy little guy when he can find a great toy to drag around.

Skeeter's strongest characteristic is that he LOVES his humans. He is so excited when his humans get home every night. He will meet you at the door, and follow you every where just to spend time with you. A typical night for Skeeter is to follow you in to the kitchen while you cook dinner, escort you to the laundry room if you need to wash clothes, then crawl up on your lap so you can watch TV together in the evening. He is an equal opportunity lover -- he enjoys time with both his foster Mom and his foster Dad. At the end of the evening, Skeeter loves to crawl up on the bed, snuggle up with you, and drift off to sleep. If you are looking for a lap dog and a loyal cuddle buddy - Skeeter is your man.

Skeeter is about 3 years old and has moderate energy. No crazy puppy energy here. But he does enjoy hanging around and participating in family activities. Skeeter is really smart. He is already potty trained and fits well in to all the household routines. He is not a big barker. He will bark when a new person comes to the door, but as soon as he knows you are safe, he settles right in and welcomes the visitor in to the home. Skeeter is not around children in his foster home but he is a friendly little guy and we think he will get along well with children. He would do well as an only dog (as long as his humans can spend a lot of time with him), or in a home with other small dogs.
