My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Valerie is a beautiful, cream-colored terrier/Chihuahua mix. We believe she is 4 years old. Sporting a little beard and long eye lashes, this nine-pound sweetie delights everyone she meets. Valerie loves to play with other dogs, chew on Nylabones, dance on two legs, and snuggle with humans. She is housebroken and non-destructive, but she does jump onto the couch because her favorite thing is to snuggle close to her human and receive caresses. Unfortunately, Valerie is the product of extreme neglect. When she landed in the shelter, the veterinarian believed that she was basically blind and that the damage to her eyes was so extensive it required removal of both eyes. Luckily for Valerie, she was rescued from the shelter and taken to an eye specialist who was able to save her eyes. Her foster mom reports that Valerie is extremely cooperative in receiving the eye drops. She calls out, “Valerie, I need an eyeball!” and Valerie comes running to get her eye drops. Valerie occasionally barks at people she doesn’t know, but she is very loyal to humans and once she knows you, she loves you forever.
