Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Sheila. I am a confident 4 year old female Beagle and I love to be the center of attention. My foster family calls me Queen Sheila because I am so good at getting people to notice me when I am around. I love being next to my humans so much that I even get excited to go on car rides.
Foster mom says I would make a wonderful “only dog” to a forever family because I am so used to getting my way. I have made great friends with the other two dogs in the family and the teenager who takes care of me; but, do sometimes get a little territorial and do not really like to share. Foster mom says some training classes would surely help!
There is a lot for me to learn about still. I’m not too sure about meeting other dogs, little kids, or cats. I do need a fenced yard, leashed walks, or a dog park for exercise, because I am very good at finding scents and am prone to try to follow them without paying attention to where my home is. I share that curiosity trait with most Beagles and you do have to be careful not to let me escape or get lost!
I do well in a crate for the day when no one is home; but, have gotten used to sleeping on the couch and walking around at nights. Foster mom has plenty of toys and bones to keep me busy and I like to carry those around with me. Foster mom uses training treats and positive reinforcement, and I am doing well with that! I’m a very fast learner!
I’m really excited to find my forever home…..I know it is out there somewhere!
