My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pete! He is gentle lab mix. His family had him since he was 6 months old and recently lost their home....they felt their only option was to euthanize him because they couldn't care for him. Pete is a sweet senior with lots of life left in him. He is great with kids and cats, energetic and very loving. He would love to get out of the shelter and back into a loving home ASAP. Please don't short-change this sweet senior! Pete was recently adopted and returned. His owner said he was a very sweet dog but said her 2 cats were very nervous since his arrival even though he didn't bother them. She also thought he played a little rough with her 5 year old son. She didn't think Pete's play was aggressive. She took Pete for a vet check while he was in her care. He was thought to be 10 years old. Her vet said he was much younger than that. ***Pete is away from the shelter this week for some dental work at Statzenberger College. Because it's a teaching college he won't be back and available for adoption until FRIDAY, 03-10-2017. Pete hopes to see you then with his nice clean teeth!***

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
