Five little monkeys jumping on a bed . . .
Okay, so they're not monkeys and they weren't always this carefree. Five little puppies were set to be killed by the owner of the mother dog because he didn't want them -- how's that for backwards logic: spaying your female dog doesn't cross your mind but shooting 5 innocent puppies does. In the nick of time a volunteer removed them from underneath the man's porch . . . and these 5 little puppies have been jumping on beds ever since!!
Foster mom knows them best:
"Barkley is the little explorer and enjoys walks and activity. She is extremely smart. She was the first to learn her name and if I tell her "No", she will stop and look at me for direction. She does enjoy playing with puppy toys. She loves those that make noise. She thoroughly enjoys being outside but she does like a change of scenery. Anytime she thinks I am going for a walk, she is begging to tag along. I have taken her on two walks off the beaten path without a leash. She stayed relatively close to me. I think she could be easily trained to walk with you leash free. After our walks, Barkley is ready for a nap. She loves playing with other dogs and enjoys curling up on a bed with them if they will let her.
Barkley is snuggly and loves to have her tummy and under the ears rubbed. If I am sitting in my chair, she will first make an attempt to get in my lap. If that isn't going to happen, she will get under my foot so that I can rub her tummy. It is so cute. Barkley would be a great addition to an active family that is looking for a great companion. We had a soccer game going on in the backyard and Barkley loved every minute of it. She is great with kids as long as they treat her well. She needs a forever home that is going to make her apart of the family!"
We think Barkley is a Cattle Dog -- possibly pure or possibly mixed -- she is about 3 months old, weighs about 10 - 15 pounds and she is a very healthy girl.
